Sheet Metal Apprentice is responsible for installation of new sheet metal and equipment on new or existing projects. This includes RTU’s, MUA’s, HP’s, Furnace’s, EF’s, FCU’s and AHU’s.

Position Duties:
- Hours required on the job are from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday (depending on job). Available to work occasional overtime & weekends if needed.
- The Sheet Metal Apprentice paperwork should be clear, complete and submitted in a timely manner. The Sheet Metal Apprentice is a representative of Rogers & Sons and must be capable of communicating well with others.
- Responsible for meeting the installation goals set for them by the Sheet Metal Journeyman Installer to ensure the project comes in at or under budget.
- Attend and participate in the apprenticeship program with CITC; including completion of work reports each month.
- Ability to keep work progress continuous by understanding the needs and flow of the job. Actively participating to help fill in when the Sheet Metal Journeyman Installer is not on the job site.
- The Sheet Metal Apprentice will be able to work with a variety of sheet metal materials and equipment including rectangular, round, weld, flexible, stainless, wall panel and rig assemble of equipment.
- Responsible for learning and helping the Sheet Metal Journeyman Installer and other Apprentices working on assigned projects. The Sheet Metal Apprentice will follow and hold all Rogers & Sons Employees accountable to all the policies, procedures, and standards of the Company on a daily basis.
- Responsible for attending and actively participating in all training classes provided.
- Responsible for adhering to the Rogers & Sons dress code and PPE requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Education and Certifications:
- Minimum of High School diploma or GED
- Participating in the Apprenticeship program
- Experience:
- General understanding and use of hand tools, power tools and heavy machinery.
- Internet search skills to find equipment info.
- Abilities:
- Ability to adhere to the Rogers & Sons policies and procedures.
- Ability to learn new equipment and technology on the go.
- Management of self and schedule.
- Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Extreme hot or cold environments with the potential of rain, snow, and high wind.
- Work space could be limited to tight and confined spaces, accessible to walking on trusses in attics.
- Heights are guaranteed and the need to work from ladders and power operated lifts.
- Working around and sometimes with highly flammable or sometimes corrosive chemicals.
- Job requires safe and clear headed thinking. Heavy lifting, rigging and cranes are likely to be used.
